Hip Hop Dance

Hip hop dance refers to dance styles, mainly street dance styles, primarily danced to hip hop music or that have evolved as a part of the hip hop culture.

These later styles are sometimes referred to as new school or new style while the older styles, including breakdance and various funk styles that were incorporated into hip hop, are considered old school.
Hip hop dancing is evolving in many different directions today, heavily influenced by the evolution of hip hop music and its popularity in media.
What distinguishes hip-hop from other forms of dance is that it is often "freestyle" (improvisational) in nature.

Our Dance Families Thoughts

  • Thank you so much to you and your staff for helping us mold Taylor into the person she has become. Because of dance, she has gotten great parts as a dancer in theater starting as early as 3rd grade and on. She also played several leads and main characters in several theater productions because she is a triple threat as a singer, actor, and dancer.  You all should be honored for all the lives you've helped mold.
