About

About

In 1987, Dance Connection was established after Denise pursued her dream of owning a dance studio where the focus was on teaching the love of dance at reasonable rates.

Denise rented a one room studio where she taught all of the classes herself.  As the studio grew, Denise trained her own staff to help her.  In 1992 Dance Connection moved to a larger area on Winton Road North with two dance rooms that eventually turned into three!

When Denise became a mother to our Co-Director, Veronica,  she brought her to her first competition. After seeing the atmosphere, Denise realized that dance should be about the love of dance and not about trophies and scores... She wanted to put her dancers in a positive environment where they could still show off their skills without the pressure of being perfect and without expensive costs.  Denise then started producing “Dancing for A Cause” benefit shows where our students entertain and all profits are donated to a local charity (and we continue this tradition every year!).

In 2008, Veronica became more involved in the “backend" of Dance Connection while also teaching. From here, she helped develop our philosophy of teaching more than just dance to our students. Denise taught Veronica all of the ins-and-outs of what goes into directing a dance studio and together, they have evolved and modernized what we believe is important in the "dance world."

As our dance family grew larger in the community, we also grew out of our studio. After years of searching for a new space, we made the decision to custom build a brand new dance studio in 2021. Since we were able to design our own space, everything that we felt we were missing in our old space was accounted for upon building (larger lobbies, larger bathrooms, more space to socialize with other dance families, observation windows, larger studios, and more natural light to name a few!).

Denise and Veronica, with the help of their amazing and passionate staff, have put their heart and soul into making Dance Connection what it is today.

Our Dance Families Thoughts

  • I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to fully express what DC has meant for Emma, and our family.

Thinking back to when she was just 3 years old, you were such a safe and nurturing presence for her. I always trusted you, your mom, and your grandmother to protect her and give her space to experience the joy and healing of dance.

As she grew older, dance became a way for her to express emotions that words couldn’t capture. You challenged her, supported her, and helped shape her into the strong, determined, and mature young woman she is today. I truly cannot thank you enough.

Dance is such an integral part of who she is, and she will carry a piece of DC with her to Ohio State next year. She is going to miss you so much!

    With gratitude, Kyra
