Tap Dance

Tap dance was developed in the United States during the nineteenth century and is popular nowadays in many parts of the world. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor. This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer but also a percussive musician.

Dance Connection in Rochester, NY offers a variety of Tap dance classes for all ages!

Our Dance Families Thoughts

  •  I sat in on Haleigh's dance class today (4-5 wednesday class) and I feel compelled to tell you how wonderful it was. I know at this young age it can be an extremely difficult task to try to teach them anything, let alone a complex dance routine but your instructors make it look easy. They are such amazing teachers and our kids are lucky to have them. They are kind, patient and fun and I now see why Haleigh loves her dance class as much she does!  Thank you for having such a caring dance studio where my daughter is taught the true meaning of dance.
