Our first annual Spotlight Banquet was a huge success! We had so much fun celebrating the end of the 2022-2023 dance season with all of our Connector Students! There was dinner, entertaining, and of course..... DANCING! Over the past few years, Denise and Veronica have been trying to find a way to add some sort of show for our Connector students to memorialize one of our DC Angels, Nikki Packard. The trick was that we didn't want it to be just another show for our dancers.... we wanted it to be special and different.

In March, we lost another one of our DC Alumni, Julissa-Taylor Loucks. We knew that the show that was originally planned was going to be emotional (a lot of the instructors danced with/taught Nikki) but now that the students and parents had a personal connection, it was going to be REALLY emotional. 

At this point, we had to figure out a way to balance the inevitable amount of emotion with a celebration for the end of the year. While the show is in honor of our DC Angels, it is also meant to congratulate all of our dancers for their hard work and dedication for the 2022-2023 season.

When our Spotlight Show was finished, we felt the "Dance Connection Family" being closer than it has been in the past. It was a perfect way to memorialize and celebrate at the same time. We are so incredibly proud of what our DC Family has grown into over 35 years and can't wait to continue to grow!
